Staying Resilient – the ocean in a drop

Meditation and contemplation have been part of my daily practice since I trained as a Monk, well before I had started my career as a CEO, Founder, Consultant and Coach. I am often said to be very passionate and sometimes that can be tricky, as I’m very clear that we all need to be living within a single planet of resources, and we need to be moving really, really quickly towards that reality, before we all end up unsustainable.

This morning I was following a meditation, where on the in-breath you get in touch with all the connections that exist and support you, breathing that into your heart. Then, on the out-breath, you can return with love and compassion to all those connections. We are all connected, and so I realised (or re-realised) that we are not so much a drop in the ocean, but also the ocean in a drop.

At this time of major transition, with the impact of Covid 19 starting to change the world and the economy we live within, it can be scary. Yet if we realise we are all connected then we are in touch with being a species, a human-kind, capable and supported by all the other species to be our best selves.
